tailor-made
It was the ancient capital of the island, from the late fifteenth century to the first half of the nineteenth century. Its cobbled streets transport us back in time and make us discover the stately past of the island. It owes its name to the last indigenous princess of Lanzarote, who married one of the conquerors.
The municipality of Teguise is deeply linked to the world of agriculture: mills, cochineal and cereal crops, water reservoirs and cattle farms are found throughout the municipality.
Teguise is history, culture and nature, the perfect place to understand the social and economic evolution of the entire island.
The coast of the municipality is characterized by a perfect harmony between jable and lava, fine white sand and black volcanic ash, the contrasts so characteristic of the entire island territory.
A unique wine experience that blends landscape, memory and flavour in the rural heart of Lanzarote.
We begin with a guided visit to the Cactus Garden, a César Manrique masterpiece, where we explore the agricultural past of Guatiza, the prickly pear plantations and the link between art, land and sustainability. We talk about Manrique, pop-art and how landscape becomes living art.
After the garden visit, we head to La Olivina Winery, a small family-run project full of soul. There, Jorge, the founder, welcomes us with a personal story about the place, the history of cochineal farming, and his grandfather’s legacy in this journey of tradition and transformation.
The experience ends with a tasting of 4 local wines, paired with Canarian cheeses, in an authentic and intimate setting. A delicious way to taste the identity of Lanzarote at its roots.

Sunset in the former capital of Lanzarote
Teguise was the capital of Lanzarote for more than 400 years, and around it, you can still feel the pulse of history, the silence of the land, and the agricultural legacy of the island.
This sunset walk takes us through the Vega de San José, a rural landscape that surrounds the old town from outside its ancient walls. Along peaceful trails, we pass by traditional farmland and traces of the past, as the light softens and the sun lowers over the fields.
We’ll talk about rural heritage, customs, and the collective memory shaped by generations of women and men who lived in deep connection with the land.
The experience ends with a gentle walk through Teguise’s historic centre, where the stones hold stories and the fading daylight enhances the quiet beauty of its plazas, convents, and cobbled streets.
A slow-paced route with no steep slopes — perfect for those who want to discover Teguise from a different perspective: through the land, the silence, and the light of the end of the day.
