Based on this commitment, I carry out my daily work following the principles of the 2030 Agenda, integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into every decision that guides my work and continuous improvement actions.
This plan summarizes how I apply these principles in the three areas that define my way of understanding tourism: environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
Through my personal brand, Guía En Lanzarote, I dedicate much of my effort to protecting the natural environment and promoting environmental education, mainly working on SDG 11 and SDG 15.
My work is focused on protecting and enhancing the island’s natural and cultural heritage, fostering a model of active tourism that balances enjoyment and conservation.
The main actions include:
Promoting respect for and conservation of Lanzarote’s natural and cultural heritage, both during guided routes and in the company’s communications.
Designing experiences linked to local heritage, combining hiking, history, and traditions.
Creating small-group routes to minimize the impact on such a fragile territory.
Guía En Lanzarote firmly believes in an economic model that drives responsible growth, local employment, and cooperation among businesses as engines of sustainable development. For me, collaboration is key to strengthening the island’s economic fabric and moving towards a more balanced and resilient form of tourism.
For this reason, I am part of several associations and networks with a clear focus on sustainability, such as Green & Human, Slow Business Club, EcoActiva Canarias, and the Tourism Federation of Lanzarote, actively participating in joint initiatives aimed at continuous improvement, innovation, and shared responsibility.
I am committed to generating value in the local economy by collaborating with small local businesses in the provision of complementary services. An example of this is the cooperation with La Casa del Vino Canario or Bodegas Rubicón, where we organize wine tasting and enotourism experiences that integrate local products, culture, and sustainability.
This approach reinforces SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), consolidating an economic model that prioritizes collaboration, innovation, and positive community impact.
In the social sphere, I focus on people’s well-being, equality, and education (SDGs 3, 4, 11, 16, and 17).
My social commitment is also reflected in the choice of suppliers: the gifts offered to clients at the end of each route come from La Jabonaría a Granel, a social enterprise based in Tenerife that employs people in vulnerable situations and promotes responsible, plastic-free consumption.
At Guía En Lanzarote, I understand sustainability as an ongoing journey of improvement, where every action counts.
Collaborations with local businesses, educational projects, environmental awareness, and social initiatives such as Ecohuchas are clear examples of how tourism can become a tool for positive transformation.
The future of the island —and of tourism on it— depends on everyone’s ability to act with coherence, respect, and responsibility.
My purpose is to continue building a more human, more conscious, and more territory-connected tourism model, where every experience contributes to the well-being of people and the preservation of the landscape that surrounds us.
Our Commitment
At Ecolandlovers - Guía En Lanzarote we believe that tourism should be a way to understand, appreciate and respect the places we visit. Our goal is to offer experiences that help people discover Lanzarote in a more conscious way, creating a positive impact on both the environment and the local community.
1. Protecting the Territory
We operate in small groups to minimise pressure on natural areas and to provide a more respectful and meaningful experience.
We encourage responsible behaviour during our activities, promoting respect for trails, wildlife, native vegetation and the island’s cultural heritage.
Whenever possible, we also encourage participants to use public transport in order to reduce emissions associated with travel.
2. Environmental Awareness and Education
All our experiences include interpretive content that helps participants understand the value of Lanzarote’s landscape, biodiversity, geology, traditional agriculture and local culture.
We believe that understanding a place is the first step towards protecting it. For this reason, we aim for every activity to contribute to greater environmental awareness and a deeper appreciation of the island.
3. Supporting the Local Economy
We prioritise collaboration with small local businesses, producers and projects that share our values.
Whenever possible, we encourage the consumption of local products and highlight the work of the people who help preserve Lanzarote’s identity and traditions.
4. Quality Tourism over Mass Tourism
We are committed to offering personalised experiences adapted to each group. Our model seeks to create value both for participants and for the territory, avoiding the dynamics of mass tourism.
We believe that a high-quality experience is not defined by the number of participants, but by the opportunity to connect with a place, understand it and enjoy it responsibly.
5. Giving Back to the Territory
Through our “Ecobanks” initiative, a portion of the income generated by our activities is allocated to local organisations and projects with social or environmental value in Lanzarote.
In this way, we aim to ensure that tourism also brings direct benefits to the local community.
6. Continuous Improvement
We understand sustainability as an ongoing learning process. For this reason, we regularly review our practices to identify opportunities for improvement and continue moving towards an increasingly responsible tourism model.
Tourism that Leaves a Positive Legacy
Our commitment is to help visitors return home with a deeper understanding of the territory, a more conscious appreciation of the landscape and a desire to contribute to its conservation.
We believe that responsible travel is not only about reducing negative impacts, but also about generating knowledge, supporting local communities and valuing the natural and cultural heritage that makes each destination unique.
